Shriyog Level 1 is a foundational yoga program designed to introduce beginners to the principles of Iyengar Yoga, focusing on alignment, balance, and strength. Rooted in the four cornerstones of Shriyog—Iyengar Yoga, Ayurvedic lifestyle, Indian philosophy, and the arts—this program provides a holistic approach to well-being and self-discovery.

Suitable For:

• Absolute beginners with no prior yoga experience.
• Individuals seeking to improve posture, flexibility, and strength.
• Those recovering from a sedentary lifestyle, injuries or looking for a gentle reintroduction to physical activity.
• Individuals with diabetes, BP, thyroid, back and neck problems related to lifestyle, and requiring stress management.

Class Syllabus:

• Basic standing, seated, inversions, twistings, forward bending and supine asanas for improved strength and flexibility.
• Introduction to key alignment principles and the use of props for support.
• Simple breathwork (pranayama) techniques to enhance focus and relaxation.
• Foundational practices to build stamina and body awareness.
• Basic yoga philosophy for mindful living and integration into daily life.

Recommended Duration:

It is recommended to remain in Level 1 for 3 to 6 months, attending classes regularly, to develop a strong and safe foundation before progressing to Level 2.
